3D Realms: The creators of Duke Nukem are working on a new fantasy game

The studies of 3D Realms, parent company of Duke Nukem and several other shooter titles such as Ion Fury and the upcoming Ghostrunner, have announced work in progress for a new IP from the taste fantasy.

Everything we know is based on two tweet published by Fredrik Schreiber, Executive Producer of many 3D Realms titles of which he is also Vice President. The most recent was also re-shared by the Danish company with a small comment: “Our next original IP will be revealed soon… Get excited! ? "

Schreiber's tweet shows a fraction of an artwork of what, at first glance, seems like a charmer: to suggest this impression is the book on the left pervaded by blue-white electric shocks. Our long sessions at D&D and other fantasy RPGs suggest that the character probably is a priest or in any case a religious type, given the penitent's clothing (chain and barbed collar) and the sentence written by Schreiber with a quotation mark: “You will have to earn your peace“.

The second tweet do Schreiber, however, is dated July 18, and shows the same stylized character on what looks like the page of a book, from behind, looking up at something or someone. The characterization of this screenshot might make us think of a 'medieval setting which supports the hypothesis of a fantasy game. In the post there is another sentence that makes the character think as a priest: "... What distinguishes repentance from pain? ... Acceptance ...". Finally, the name of the game apparently will start with "G" and end with "N", judging by the last comment in the tweet.

Other important details of 3D Realms Vice President's tweets are the mentions to what are probably the two other companies involved in the creation of this fantasy game: Slipgate ironworks, developer of the aforementioned Ghostrunner, of Bombshell, Ancestors Legacy, of Bird and Cage and various other titles, and 1C Entertainment, Czech publisher of King's Bounty, Men of War, Company of Crime, and many other video games.

What can we expect from the collaboration of these three companies? A fantasy Duke Nukem, and therefore one shooter with spells, or maybe some other kind of game?
