Baldur's Gate 3 | exiting early access is still a long way off

Almost a year after the launch of theearly access and the many hours spent always in the same part of the game, Swen Vicke, boss of the studios of Run, confirmed that Baldur's Gate 3 it will definitely not see its full version 1.0 by 2021, and perhaps not even in the 2022.

Baldur's Gate 3 launched in early access in October 2020, offering players a somewhat buggy and restricted gameplay experience in a single initial area, but full of interesting content, as we told you in this preview and in this story. While Larian's developers fix the technical details making the game experience smoother, they have arrived too patch important in the meantime, such as adding the Druid as a game class, which we invite you to explore in detail in this article.

Speaking with GameSpot colleagues, Larian's CEO Swen Vincke confirmed that the release times of the final version of the game are still far away and that not even 2022 is guaranteed as a launch window despite being the declared goal of the company.

We are really looking to finish the game by next year. It will definitely not come out this year. But we're working very hard to get it all in. But it's a very big game, and it deserves time to develop.

A project as ambitious as Baldur's Gate 3, a continuation of a legendary saga set in a world, the Forgotten Realms, equally legendary and developed in several media related to Dungeons & Dragons, it needs a long and tight development time. Particularly when a pandemic arises that forces everyone to work in smart working.

We would be happy if we could get it out next year, yes. We are aiming for that period, but there are no guarantees. We had a big one setback, especially in everything related to the motion capture and dubbing during the pandemic. So it took some time, and the teams working together also struggled. But now, slowly, hopefully the world is getting into a better place and we're starting to pick up speed again. But we still have a lot of work. We're not done yet, it's a huge game.

We therefore assume that in the future there will still be other patches that gradually insert new game elements. In the meantime, we still have no details on probable future releases on other consoles such as PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X | S. Indeed, when GameSpot asked Vincke for details, this was his response:
