Bulletstorm – Video Recensione

The Bulletstorm story is set in the twenty-sixth century where, the Confederation of Planets is protected by a military group called the Dead Echo. Grayson Hunt, the protagonist of the adventure, was one of the men of the Dead Echo until he discovered that he had been used by his superior as a hitman useful to eliminate uncomfortable characters. Once the discovery has been made, Hunt abandons the military corps - from which he is dishonorably discharged - and begins a bitter fight against General Serrano which soon leads him to become a pirate with a lot of bounty on his head. Ten years later Hunt, at the end of a warp voyage, finds himself facing the Ulysses, an imposing military vessel controlled by General Serrano. Clouded by the fumes of alcohol and anger, Hunt decides to attack the vessel and after a quick fight and consequent fainting, he finds himself with the survivors of his fleet on the planet Stygia, once a thriving Confederacy planet and today a filthy controlled dunghill. by a group of shapeless mutants and soulless bandits. Released from the wreckage of the ship, Hunt discovers that the Ulysses has also crashed on Stygia and from here, in a whirlwind of events, several twists and a small decline in attractiveness in the middle of the adventure, the story of Bulletstorm unfolds. divided into eight chapters, including the prologue.
Although the plot does not present anything new, then immediately anticipating the real enemy of our protagonist, the excellent personality given to each character makes the adventure interesting, profound and beautiful to live and play. However, the real soul of Bulletstorm is not the story, but the gameplay. Harshly criticized in the States in the past months, Bulletstorm has been accused of being a sadistic, vulgar title that makes violence a wrong means of entertainment. Is it really so? Yes. Have a good time? No more!

OK, who left the spare tire lying around !?

In conclusion, the single player campaign will take us from six to eight hours in the first game, depending on the difficulty of the game chosen - if you have experience with titles like Unreal and Gears of War, go straight to the difficult mode. If longevity is in line with the highest FPS on the market, the same cannot be said of replayability. Repeating the story of Bulletstom is indeed a duty more than a pleasure, even if replaying with all the weapons and abilities to the maximum makes the adventure extremely simple to complete.

    A POOR MULTIPLAYER IN SPIRIT

If we have already spoken extensively about the absence of cooperative modes, no mention has yet been made of the multiplayer sector. Bulletstorm offers the player a single game mode called Anarchy - or Anarchy. In this mode up to four players will be able to clash inside arenas against hordes of ravenous Skulls, a bit like already seen with Gears of War 2 with the Locusts. The Skills Points obviously return to being the protagonists which allow the player and his team to access new upgrades and skills for each level that will be overcome by completing a specific number of points, generally obtainable only with teamwork - one kicks, the other uses the whip and the third shoots the family jewels, just to give an example.

Bad Fuffi ... I told you to stay home !!

Bulletstorm is certainly not free from defects as we have already said, but none of these carry the title below the sufficiency and more importantly, all the defects put together do not take away an iota of the fun that the work of People Can Fly and Epic Games is able to give us. A good story is flanked by excellent characters and a challenge and multiplayer sector capable of exponentially increasing the hours of healthy madness that the game offers us.

The purchase is not simply recommended, but a must. Bulletstorm is one of those few games on the market that really makes a difference in its genre, and the only ones who won't be able to enjoy it are those addicted to simulated warfare and realism at any cost.

The game is available for Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Personal Computer. The recommended requirements to fully enjoy the title are Windows Vista (SP2) or Seven, Quadcore 2.0 Ghz, 2GB RAM and DirectX 9.0c compatible video card with at least 512Mb of dedicated RAM.
