Command & Conquer Remastered Collection has a release date

RTS fans are looking forward to replaying Command & Conquer, one of the most popular series of the genre, with more modern graphics and a revised user interface.

Developer Petroglyph Games has released a trailer revealing the release date of Command & Conquer Remastered Collection: June 5 2020. The game will be available for PC on Steam and Origin and will feature the remastered original title, Red Alert, the expansions covert ops, Counterstrike e Aftermath and other bonus content.

The improved version of the game that came out 25 years ago boasts new graphics with support for resolution 4K and a remastered soundtrack by the original composer Frank Klepacki. The core gameplay remains unchanged, but will be packed into one new user interface, with updated controls and an integrated map editor, all created in tandem with the C&C community, ”said the developer himself.

The importance of community feedback has been enormous because many additions have been made drawing on just what the fans wanted. For example, they were looking forward - Petroglyph reports - to see a serious overhaul of the user interface, sidebar and embedding of elements of Red Alert 2 and C&C 3, including cards, extra slots, and hotkeys. The producer Jim Vessella said this community vision provided the confirmation needed to make decisions with confidence.

As we have seen, the package does include a lot of content, however mods, unfortunately, will not be supported at launch: Vessella said mod support is one of the most requested features by players, but for now they have decided not to do anything in that direction. On the other hand, the new map editor will allow players to create both single-player and multiplayer maps; these can be shared on Steam and Origin.
