Dungeons & Dragons: Psykers in the new Unearthed Arcana!

One of the most "illustrious" losses that some of the players of Dungeons & Dragons they suffered with the transition to fifth edition of the most famous role-playing game in the world® was the whole regulatory framework on Psionici.

Among those who played Eberron from 3.5 onwards (where the psionic theme was present), and those who simply loved using the eclectic powers of the mind in their D&D campaigns, there has never been any official material from W on this line of rules much appreciated by a part of the community. In fact, even the new version of the aforementioned setting (Eberron – Rising from the Last War, that Asmodee will produce in Spanish over the course of the year) leave these rules aside completely.

As always are the Unearthed Arcana, the materials of play test provided to players for free, to provide some hope for fans of mental powers. Over the years, some themed ones have been published, and right now W has released another, surprisingly more full-bodied than usual.

Dungeons & Dragons: Psykers in the new Unearthed Arcana!

New subclasses, spells and feats

In the meantime, you can retrieve the UA in question for free by visiting the website of W. With the knowledge that this is playtest material, not definitive and probably not 100% balanced.

The content of the new Unearthed Arcana it's very interesting, relative to how much WotC has done so far for psykers in D&D 5. In the nine pages published this time you can find:

  • Psi Knight: subclass for the Warrior, reinterpretation of the previous Psychic Warrior
  • Soulknife: subclass for the Thief, also a reinterpretation of an old idea
  • Psionic Soul: a subclass of the Sorcerer, formerly known as Aberrant Mind
  • Three new spells psionically themed for Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock and Mage
  • Five new talents that grant psychic powers to any character

Waiting for all the work done by Wizards of the Coast to become official content, as actually happened for Rising from the Last War for which no one hoped that Eberron back as a setting, in the meantime you can start experimenting with these new psionic options.
