Ghost of Tsushima developers looking for a writer for open world, upcoming sequel?

It seems that sucker Punch, team responsible for Ghost of Tsushima, is already working on a new project. According to the announcement, the team is looking for a new one senior writer, specifically someone who can create well-written and multifaceted characters to fit into a openworld. The job posting was then picked up by the developer house's official Twitter.

This is not the first announcement related to the search for a new workforce that Sucker Punch has made in recent months: last October the studio was looking for new staff to be included in the team for a title set in the Feudal Japan. This January, however, another job advertisement was released related to the search for someone expert in combat design to be included in the internal team. As if these announcements weren't enough to raise the hype, a Sucker Punch developer had updated his Linkedin profile by including a chapter of Ghost of Tsushima for PlayStation 5 among his works, and after a few days the reference had been removed. Many fans of the title starring Jin Sakai had already thought of an unofficial confirmation that the sequel was in the works, despite the possibility that the announcements could refer to any new expansions or an improved version for PlayStation 5 of the first chapter.

After this new job advertisement, however, there is no longer any doubt: Sucker Punch is officially working on a new title, even if it is still early to say that it is Ghost of Tsushima 2. The lucky open world set in feudal Japan has been released just over six months ago, it is therefore clear that any project the house is working on development will not see the light anytime soon. At the moment, none of the team members have released any statements regarding this mysterious new project.

Meanwhile, Ghost of Tsushima has continued to get several updates and awards around the world after its release in July 2020. The title saw last October receive a full-bodied multiplayer mode call Legends, free for anyone who already owns the game. In addition, with the release of the PlayStation 5, it also had a patch that improves its performance on Sony's new flagship console. Among the most important awards instead, in addition to the award for best Art Direction received at the The Game Awards 2020 last December, Ghost of Tsushima was also the Game of the Year of readers for the famous Japanese magazine Famitsu. Given the success obtained in such a short time, it would therefore not surprise us if these new announcements are linked to the arrival of a second chapter dedicated to the Jin Sakai epic.
