The new Samsung wearables combine the best technologies for fitness and smart living. The agreement with Speedo brings Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro into the pool
BERLIN, August 30th 2017 - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today at IFA 2017 presented three new devices that will enrich its wearable range, designed to allow consumers to get the most out of their time dedicated to sport and physical activity: Gear Sport, an elegant and versatile water-resistant smartwatch designed for fitness; Gear Fit2 Pro, a sport band with GPS and smart functionality; Gear IconX, the second generation of the innovative wireless earphones suitable for sports. In addition, Samsung has announced an important partnership with Speedo, whereby swimmers of all levels will be able to monitor their performance in the pool using the Speedo On platform and the new Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. e Speedo International Ltd. are collaborating to help swimmers around the world monitor their pool activities, to improve their performance, thanks to the availability announced today of the Speedo On platform for new Samsung devices. The Speedo On app will be available on the new Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro, two devices certified to withstand water up to 50 meters and 5 atmospheres. The new Gear will become the ideal companions for every swimmer thanks to instant access to the Speedo On app which measures the fundamental metrics of swimming (count of laps and times, type of stroke). Together with the new two devices, the app will allow you to better complete your training program, integrating the activities in the pool with the dry ones: the Speedo On data will in fact be compatible with the Samsung Health platform, to offer a more complete picture of the state of health and well-being.
The new Samsung Gear wearables are designed to monitor performance during workouts, nutrition and sleep, but also to become real motivational coaches and companions in everyday life. By introducing new easy-to-use smart features and partnering with some of the leading players in technology and fitness, Samsung will help consumers achieve all their goals. - Water resistance and swim tracking: ideal companions in the pool, these devices are certified to withstand a pressure of five ATMs [1], and the Speedo On application allows you to improve the quality of your training by monitoring performance;
- Unparalleled Heart Rate Tracking: thanks to greater accuracy, the devices offer advanced real-time monitoring of the heartbeat and help to have an accurate picture of the heart's activity;
- High-level partnership: from today, daily activities can be integrated using the Under Armor apps for fitness - including Under Amour Record, MyFitnessPal, MapMyRun and Endomondo for functions related to activities, nutrition and community - and Spotify, even in offline mode to listen to your own favorite music at any time of the day, even without using a smartphone;
- Automatic activity detection: the automatic detection of activities, integrated into the devices, allows them to understand when you are walking, running or cycling, but also if you are dancing or playing basketball;
- Personalized motivator: it is possible to create personalized wellness plans with specific objectives and alerts.
Gear Sport: a new and versatile smartwatch for an active and balanced life
Gear Sport has an attractive, practical yet minimalist look, with a circular bezel and 1,2-inch super AMOLED display and improved user interface, to make viewing information even easier - even on the go. With Gear Sport it will be possible to work to achieve goals related to health and well-being, also receiving information and alerts on nutrition and advice on activities, even when they are offline.

In addition to new features for swimming and heart rate tracking, the new Gear Fit2 Pro integrates advanced GPS tracking, to capture performance during a run or walk with greater accuracy. The Gear Fit1,5 Pro's 2-inch Super AMOLED curved display and high-resolution color touchscreen make it easier to read live updates and notifications. The new ergonomic and safe strap is light and comfortable, to be used during any activity. Available in black and red, its versatile design also makes it an accessory with an unmistakable style.
Gear IconX: wireless earphones with incredible comfort
