It's not a meme, Victoria 3 is reality: Paradox just announced it

Victoria 3 is reality. Finally Paradox Interactive, dopo 11 years Long awaited, announced the sequel to the Victorian saga, a grand strategy game of his set in the pivotal years of the industrial revolution, between the events of Europa Universalis and those of Hearts of Iron, two other strategic sagas conceived by the Swedish house.

Fans have been asking for a worthy sequel to for a long time Victoria II of 2010, after seeing Paradox's new strategy games arrive over the years like Europe Universalis IV e Crusader Kings 3, new IPs like Cities Skylines e Emperor: Rome and major expansions of the company, such as with the acquisition of the rights to the World of Darkness. The request for a new Victoria had become so tragicomic that it had become a meme.

During the PDXCON Remixed today 21 May 2021, the Swedish publisher has managed to really announce the arrival of the game. The peculiarity of the Victoria series was to focus a lot on pops, the population, a game system that, in some ways, we had tried to resume in vain also in Imperator: Rome but which did not have the same effectiveness and popularity as the Victorian strategy.

Victoria III is like all Paradox grand strategy games a video game manageable by one large map zoomable down to its smallest details, a map that can have different views depending on the filters (political, geographical, religious, and so on). The setting of the nineteenth century places this strategic in the full industrial boom, between railways, telegraphs and the birth of flight. L'Victorian age saw the world transform with new ones technologies, new philosophy and new ways of doing policy.

Generally in the Victoria saga the player has to make sure that the pops are happy and content, to prevent them from fomenting revolutions and protests. Victoria 3 promises to expand this civic aspect, as well as delving deeper into the business and in imperialist political negotiation.

In short, Paradox will return to make us relive the greatest simulator of the nineteenth century, but we still do not have gameplay images, nor a precise release date. We just know it will be available dal day one insieme all’Xbox Game Pass per PC, and that the release will be simultaneously on Steam and on Paradox Store.
