Lords of the Fallen 2 changes developer and will be released on next-gen

Lords of The Fallen 2 is in its third developer and will be available for next-generation PCs and consoles. According to a release, the sequel to the soulslike Lords of The Fallen is now led by Hexworks, a new software house made up of "veterans of the video industry", to their credit other triple A titles.

The first Lords of the traps was developed by Deck13 and launched at the dawn of the current generation of consoles in 2014. The studio was in the pipeline with its long-awaited sequel but, shortly thereafter, shelved the project in 2015, continuing to work on the futuristic series The Surge. In 2018, Defiant Studios took over the project in development, rewriting the sequel's story from scratch.

Two years after the acquisition of Defiant Studios, there is no peace for Lords of The Fallen. The development of a new software house will involve a change in the style of settings that will focus more on dark fantasy, while remaining centered on a gameplay style that appeals to fans of Dark Souls.

Now that we know a few more details about this expected sequel, we just have to wait for concrete evidence of its existence. With the hope that it will not be further postponed, Lords of The Fallen 2 is expected, as I remind you, for PS5, Xbox Series X e PC.
