Minecraft Player Recreates Entire Map of Chernobyl '

It took a Minecraft player two years to reconstruct the entire map of Chernobyl ', a city a few kilometers from which the infamous nuclear accident took place.

The Chernobyl disaster is one of the most shocking events in modern history. It happened on the night of April 26, 1986 a few kilometers from the Ukrainian city of Pryp ”jat 'at the Vladimir Lenin nuclear fission power plant. The confirmed deaths, according to the estimates of the Soviet government, were about sixty, but the doubt that the numbers were much higher is concrete.

The Netflix TV series broadcast last year has reconstructed the story in detail and has allowed many to know details previously ignored.

The player who decided to undertake this venture is called Janisko and he called his creation "Chernobyl universe". The map was created to be played in Survival mode and aims to faithfully mirror the scene of the accident. Janisko also used some maps from the STALK.ER videogame series Two years of work led to a very respectable result.

I built both Chernobyl and the other southernmost areas of the area, as well as the Belarusian part and even the city of Poliske, for example, inspired by the dead city map featured in STAL.KER

To create this very large map, I have proceeded with as much data as possible, which I draw mainly from the Internet, such as Google Maps and other useful things. Of course, not all information can be obtained from the Internet, but unfortunately I have no other ways of acquiring the data, which means that when I am forced, I have to use a little improvisation in the reconstruction of some buildings or layout of some areas.
