Nintendo: hackerati 160.000 account Switch

Problem case for Nintendo this week: after days of reports from the international press, yesterday the multinational has officially announced that around 160.000 Nintendo Switch accounts have been hacked and that for this reason the company has decided to investigate what happened.

To do this the company has decided to suspend access to Nintendo Accounts via your Nintendo Network ID, as the "door" for hackers would have been this network (while all other methods of accessing their Nintendo accounts are considered safe). Furthermore, Nintendo asked users to reset passwords for Nintendo Network IDs and Nintendo Accounts, so as to prevent any risks for the safety of users.

Here the official communication from Nintendo Italia:

What happened?

The story was brought to light a start of the week, with the reporting of various episodes of illegal access to the network. The violation would have made available various sensitive data and several accounts would encounter charges for unpaid payments, particularly within Fortnite.

According to Nintendo the violations would have started at early April.

All accounts involved in the "case" will be contacted to reset your password.

If you also encounter problems or anomalies, do not hesitate to contact Nintendo through the support channels.
