On the occasion of the State of Play on February 25, Lorne Lanning intervened to present a new trailer on Oddworld: Soulstorm, the new adventure of Abe who, from an unlikely hero, has become the leader of a real revolt against the evil Glukkon and their minions. In addition to showing us a whole series of new features, the video shows us the long-awaited release date of the game, set for the next April 06 2021, per Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S e PC.
The game will take hold after the events narrated in New ‘n Tasty, and will see our beloved Abe return to a Glukkon facility to help his other fellow sufferers but, this time, there will be more than 1000 Mudokons to save from their inauspicious fate.
The historic developer of the Oddworld saga presents us with a whole series of new features of the game, which will guarantee us a whole series of new possibilities with which to approach the gameplay. First, Abe is seen using a weapon in the trailer, which was previously impossible; however, our friendly neighborhood Mudokon has been granted several new abilities, which will allow him to steal items from sleeping enemies and the ability to resort to crafting to create new ones.
But fear not: the "song" with which Abe can take control of his opponents has not been touched in the least, and will remain the main weapon with which you can make your way through the various stages. Speaking of internships: in Soulstorm we will be able to move outside the canonical two dimensions to which the series had accustomed us, having to deal with a whole series of new obstacles and new traps.
Will we be "pacifists" or "angels of death"? Only we will be able to decide, choosing to save all possible lives or sacrificing them on the altar of victory.
We remind our readers that Oddworld: Soulstorm will come out next 06 April on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC. In case you decide to buy a copy for old gen, you will automatically have access to its current gen version.
