Polymega unveils the latest CD format it will be compatible with.

Polymega, once known more trivially as Retroblox, is a console dedicated to the retrogaming.

By dedicated this time we mean that thanks to its modular capacity it will be possible to use the original cartridges and CD-ROMs and run them directly on the console.

At present it will be possible to play through the module CartridgeNES, SNES, Mega DrivePC Engine, while the form CD ROM will allow you to play safely  Sega CD, PC Engine CD/TG-16 CD and dear old woman PlayStation.

The company announced that the fourth compatible console would be revealed with the advent of E3; the promise was kept and it is now official that Polymega will be able to run the games perfectly Neo Geo CD.

Il Neo Geo CD was unveiled in 1994 by SNK to try to give a second youth to the very expensive consoles Neo Geo of the time, clipped by enormous costs in memory management through cartridges; the CD-ROM support had the aim of cutting the prices related to cartridges but brought with it problems concerning the youth of the format, in fact the first loader per Neo Geo he was cursed by a very slow reading speed which at times completely compromised the possibility of using the console; the problem was solved with the next Neo Geo CDZ

Il Polymega will be able to read games Neo Geo 80% faster than the first Neo Geo CD and 60% faster than its successor Neo Geo CDZ.

the CEO of Playmaji Inc.  Bryan Bernal said:

Our goal is to make this system that had so much potential as fast and playable as the MVS / AES counterparts without costing you a literal fortune per game. Now with POLYMEGA, Neo Geo CD is not only a viable and affordable way to get into Neo Geo collecting, but also is a way to experience many great nuances of the system that were overshadowed by the horrendous load times such as the excellent CD-quality arranged music as well as the special games and content not found on the MVS / AES versions such as Crossed Swords II, the exclusive 5th course (Scotland) on Neo Turf Masters, and more.

Polymega seems to have all the credentials to win Kickstarter, all that remains is to wait for the official release of founding on the platform.
