Sense - Cyberpunk Ghost Story was defined as a sexist game even before it came out on consoles

Sense – A cyberpunk Ghost Story is a horizontal scrolling survival horror with a sci-fi setting developed by the American software house Top Hat Studios, already known for making titles like Magic Ova, Sonzai o Hyper Team Record.

As expected we are not talking about an incredibly well-known software house: all the aforementioned games are video games with a not particularly high budget that will have reached niches of fans, without however exploding into the mainstream video game market.

Here, Sense – A cyberpunk Ghost Story it will probably do the same thing but we will remember it in a greater way, this due to a widespread toxicity in the gamer community.

What we find here are just some of the tweets regarding the controversy around the day. Tweets that are not particularly violent, we want to emphasize, which however show the indisposition of a certain fringe of users towards video games such as Sense - A Cyberpunk Ghost Story because ofart style, with character design which presents bursting forms and women from unnatural measures; to this must be added accusations concerning the incitement to violence that this art style could provoke, in addition to the crudeness of the themes presented.

Because these tweets have popped up just now when the game is actually on the market since August 2020? Because the title, by the end of the month, is expected to come out Switch, PS4 e Xbox One, which apparently has not gone down for many.

The not-so-funny part of the whole story is that, apparently, gamers didn't stop to express their opinions through more or less shareable tweets. They threatened the software house to practice review bombing to bury the game, threatened with death (!!!) the developers and similar practices.

The developers clearly did not take these positions very well and remarked that they did not absolutely intend to censor your own game.

Here is the statement released on twitter by the software house, translated for you.

With the upcoming arrival of Sense - 不祥 的 预感: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story on Nintendo Switch, we have become aware of a large amount of messages based on false information. These messages spoke of Sense - 不祥 的 预感: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story as of a game pornographic, able to encourage violence or even worse, responsible for break the law.

These rumors and messages supported positions in which there was talk of making the sale of the game impossible, requiring heavy censorship of the art style we used in the creation of the game world.
Added to this were review bombing threats, complete with similar messages addressed to our distributor.

We've also received death threats from those who feel threatened by what boils down to, essentially, an aesthetic decision of how pixels are arranged on a screen.
While we are disappointed by these behaviors, we are certainly not surprised.

Let's be clear about this - we will not censor the game due to self-centered crowds who only care about the grandstand.
We categorically and absolutely refuse to limit creative expression.

Creators should be allowed the freedom to express themselves, especially when it comes to an expression of the subcultures in which they have been immersed.

As a cyberpunk game, Sense uses images and themes related to a future made of extreme images, where themes such as the commercialization of the body or aesthetic modification are an integral part of the movement that inspires it. This is reflected in the characterization of the characters and their drawings.

We reject all the declarations that have reached us by message and we reaffirm our principles that protect creative expressions. We also remind you that this game is rated ESRB M (17+) and PEGI 18.
This is not an Adult-Only game, no laws have been broken contrary to what so many keyboard lions have argued based on their prejudices.

The evaluation described above reflects the target audience but apparently this thing is completely forgotten by those who carry out a completely blind crusade against what is the reality of the facts.

We repeat it one more time then: Sense – Foreboding: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story is valued ESRB M (17+) and PEGI 18.
The game will release as scheduled, and uncensored, on January 7 2021 per Nintendo Switch.

It can be pre-ordered and preloaded now on the Nintendo E-Shop.
The game has passed Quality Assurance on other platforms, and release dates are still being set there.

The game will not be censored.
We categorically refuse to censor it.
