Silent Hill is returning, but it's just a Dead by Daylight DLC

It seems that many players will soon be able to return to the streets of Silent Hill and to escape from the unmentionable protagonists of the historical Konami horror saga, but in a truly unexpected way: will in fact be the protagonist of the new DLC of Dead by Daylight, available in June.

The DLC introduces into the game the character of Cheryl Mason (protagonist of Silent Hill 3) and the epic Pyramid head as a killer, while the hunting scenario will be there Midwich Elementary School, one of the most disturbing and iconic locations in the series.

The news has already wowed horror fans who may love both franchises. After all, it will be nice to find in-game playful atmospheres and dynamics that have been missing from our screens for too long, and DbD is a great way to relive them.

Boiling something in the pot or does Konami want to make us suffer?

However, such a gimmick raises some questions.

Why does a popular game like Dead by Daylight want to go and retrieve Silent Hill, a series that has unfortunately been dying for a long time (not to mention dead), and not the fresh and “current” Resident Evil? And could we not see in Konami's move to sell the rights a sort of "promotion" for a brand that is finally destined for a recovery?

Silent Hill is returning, but it's just a Dead by Daylight DLC

Doubt comes. It is true that to squeeze our minds too much and it would lead us straight into thehuge cauldron of assumptions and hypotheses, which is quite an end in itself.

However we bet that, if the hypothesis were wrong and the Dead by Daylight DLC was nothing more than a sort of spottino an end in itself, more than one long-time Silent Hill fan would cast insults against Konami.

Moreover, it appears sad and almost incomprehensible as, when the eternal rival Capcom is betting everything on its survival horror series, Konami insists on keeping Silent Hill in storage collecting dust.

How many of you would like a new Silent Hill? And what would you prefer, a remake operation similar to those carried out by Capcom or a completely new episode?
