The Good Pope: Crusader Kings III player eats the Pope

Strategic video games like Crusader kings iii di Paradox Interactive allow a detailed customization of the gameplay, we have already talked about it in our review. What did the user of Reddit "Zak7062", however, far surpasses the most absurd and amusing fantasies.

For those unfamiliar with it, Crusader Kings III is a game of real-time strategy with strong GDR components set in Middle Ages, where the player controls an entire royal lineage through the ages, one living householder at a time. While on Twitch and YouTube you can follow those who try to restore the Roman Empire, there are those who simply aspire to spread their dynasty of Vikings suffering from dwarfism throughout the Old Continent.

Speaking of this category of pranksters, the user Zak7062 enters with a straight leg on Reddit with the epic conclusion of his gaming campaign: his character ate the Pope. Reached by the editors of PC Gamer, Zak revealed the details of his campaign to the famous gaming magazine.

It all started with the Kingdom of Jorvik, a Viking domain in England in 867 AD.

Looking at what kind of options I would have had it for found a new Faith I checked which Commandments were available. As I scrolled through the options, one caught my eye: the ritual cannibalism.

One of Zak's favorite achievements in Crusader Kings II was the 'Holy Smoke', unlockable after sacrificing the head of another religious leader playing as a Nordic or Aztec pagan. It is for this reason that the player immediately understood what it was his fate.

Having conquered Mercia, Wessex, a bit of Ireland and a bit of Scotland, it was the Pope himself who launched several Crusades against his British dominions. Zak responded to the episcopal offensive by combining as many marriages as possible with pagan priests in order to generate, sooner or later, a religious leader in his dynasty. After sacrificing a few Catholics, the player was finally able to reform his religion, developing a particular appetite for the priests of the creeds of others.

Zak succeeded in his attempt by invading the Vatican and capturing its sovereign. It all ended with a meat lunch Pope Gregory VI. We remind you that Crusader Kings III for the moment is only available on PC via Steam and Xbox Game Pass.
