During the Gearbox Showcase 2021 new details were revealed about Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, the new game inspired by the franchise Borderlands but which, it has already been specified, will be a totally independent experience.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands incorporates the typical mechanics of the looter shooter which inspired it, encysting them in a fantasy system and adding a pinch of RPG elements to the mix. Kayla Belmore, Senior Producer of Gearbox, has revealed some new details about the game: the plot will be completely original, as well as for the main cast, with the exception of Tiny Tina who made his appearance in an expansion of Borderlands 2.
The narrative autonomy of the title will make it perfectly usable by those who are totally fasting from Borderlands; veterans of the franchise, on the other hand, will find many winks in the game that will make them smile of complicity. As you can see from the trailer, dragons will play an important role in the economy of the title: there will be lives to defeat, as well as goblins, killer giant fish and numerous other fantastic creatures taken from various fantasy imaginaries.
The game is expected in early 2022. We await information about the launch pads.
