With an unexpected post on the PlayStation Blog today Sony formalizes the arrival on the market of two new colors for the Dualense PlayStation 5: Midnight Black e Cosmic Red.
With availability fixed all over the world starting from the next June, the two new colors differ from the "classic" DualSense with a white theme because they adopt mainly dark colors, which draw heavily from the shades of space deep, going against the far too cleanliness of Sony's new flagship.
Midnight Black features two slightly different shades of black with light gray details that represent space when we observe it at night, while Cosmic Red features a stunning black and red design inspired by the vibrant and unique shades of red typical of the cosmos.
With the DualSense controller Sony has marked an epochal turning point in the gaming landscape: it is finally possible to receive a sensory feedback when performing particular in-game actions - such as different pressure on the trigger in shooters, or feeling the tension of a bow string ready to shoot arrows - and has given the Software Houses new means to tell the story in the round and the sensations they want to convey to gamers.
The peculiar choice on the new DualSense colors was also summarized by two members of the Design Team of the Japanese Software House, Leo Cardoso e Satoshi Aoyagi
Our goal is to always find designs that surprise and arouse interest in our fans. These new colors are the result of a thorough selection process. The new controller colors were meant to echo each other, but also maintain an affinity with the original DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console. Leo CardosoMidnight Black and Cosmic Red both feature a subtle shade of blue, resulting in unique shades of red and black. Also in the colors of the original DualSense wireless controller there is a shade of blue, thanks to which all three colors match perfectly. In addition, the colors and details of the controller keys have been specially designed to complement the new colors. We hope these new features can make our fans' gaming experience even more enjoyable and fun.
