Hot Wheels Unleashed | DC villains whiz into the living room

A few months ago we praised Hot Wheels Unleashed, the latest title of the Milestone española that after years of realistic driving simulators offers us an unbridled and fun arcade racing using one of the most famous IPs in the world.

As promised, the post launch contents are not long in coming with the first racing season dedicated to the world of DC comics. Let's see together in detail.

DC Super-Villains Racing Season

The first seasonal event proposed by Milestone and the DC Super-Villains Racing Season, as it suggests, it is therefore a limited-time event in which players will be able to compete to progress along a real battle pass to unlock various free and premium rewards.

At the cost of €5,99 in fact, you can add premium content to the rewards such as new cars, furniture items and new elements for your profile, all strictly in theme with the DC setting to be unlocked by progressing with the battle pass.

Specifically, the new cars are inspired by famous nemesis of Batman and companions like Bane, The Cheetah, Poison Ivy, Black Manta, Harley Quinn e Deathstroke (only content unlocked immediately with purchase). While your tavern will be tinged with dark tones of Gotham with three walls, two floors, two doors, two decorations, two posters and a set of four additional posters. Finally for your profile Unleashed you will have a new icon, a tag and a background for the player's profile.

New challenges and some doubts

With this new racing season, new daily challenges have also arrived with which you can progress within the season pass. At the moment this new feature it does not shine in variety since in the long run the types of missions are repeated in a cyclical way: Play X games in Y mode, Win X games, Drift for X centimeters or complete a certain number of generic races. But what is interesting is that thanks to this expedient we can "farm" gold and gears faster, useful for completing our collection or improving the cars in our possession.

What makes you breathe a big sigh of relief is theMilestone intervention to punish players who remained stationary in AFK during online competitions by ruining the experience for players who wanted to skid and flap at full throttle.

Unico doubt what remains is as this season pass system, very similar to Rocket League, can last relying exclusively on a very casual type of gameplay without the push of a competitive mode that really keeps players glued to a title that still has a lot to show how Hot Wheels Unleashed.
