Monster Hunter Stories 2 shows the turn-based combat system

    During the Monster Hunter Digital Event of 27 April, Capcom showed a new trailer di Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, coming to the next 9 July, presenting parts of gameplay regarding the turn-based combat.

    As we had hypothesized, this digital event has focused from the beginning on Monster Hunter Stories 2 now that the Rise chapter is already available on Nintendo Switch. In the new trailer presented by Capcom it was possible to have small details on the plot with a first look at two characters already present in the first Monster Hunter Stories, while later the live focused on a slightly more thorough inspection of the combat system in shifts.



    In Wings of Ruin, the player, having assumed the role of a Rider which can use a Bond stone to connect to monsters, the player will be able to meet Lilia e Reverto, characters introduced in the previous Monster Hunter Stories. The two are on a mission to capture Ratha Sharp, a Rathalos cub who has formed a bond with the protagonist, before he can awaken his destructive power foretold in a prophecy: the Wings of Ruin. A group of mysterious hunters are also hot on the heels of the player trying to capture Ratha Sharp for their own purposes.

    As for the combat, Capcom has revealed the first details on the strategic elements of what is in effect a JRPG a turn by Monster Hunter. From the prequel Monster Hunter Stories, the new chapter borrows the same type and interaction of the three types of attack present: Power, Speed ​​and Technical, functioning in the style of a Chinese morra (paper, scissors and stone). These are accompanied by the player's ability to know how to master the correct use of a type of weapon, of element and ability to overcome increasingly massive and aggressive threats.



    Monsters also have their own fighting style, and it is up to the player to try to target certain parts of the beast's body, more sensitive to certain types of damage or certain elements of power, in order to stop their attacks. The players can also call their own Monsties, trained monsters capable of powerful double or devastating attacks Attacks of the Bond together with the Battlemates.

    In the trailer and during the digital event, it was possible to see some of the monsters that will be present in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. Future trailers and updates in the coming months we will better clarify other plot and gameplay details, for the rest we just have to wait for the 9 July for the official launch on Nintendo Switch. Like Monster Hunter Rise, Stories 2 will also have versions for other platforms in the future.
